| The Federal
Aviation Administration enacted Special Federal Aviation Regulation
73 relating to all Robinson helicopters. This regulation
stipulates additional training requirements necessary for all pilots
wishing to manipulate controls of Robinson helicopters. Click here
to read SFAR 73 SFAR 73 requires that all flight instructors must have
at least 200 flight hours in helicopters, at least 50 of which were in
the Robinson R-22. Because our program is designed for
professional helicopter pilot instructors, we have integrated this
course into the training.
Don't be fooled, there is no way to legally teach in a Robinson
helicopter without 200 flight hours. Many schools do not advertise
this fact and new CFII's have thought they saved money by only paying
$55,000.00 dollars for flight training. It is only later, do they
find out they still must 'buy' another 40 hours of training to become
employable. |
