I couldn't resist the
temptation to share these Earl Nightengale quotes with you. I can
personally attest to the accuracy of the first quotation. I worked
as a chief operations officer at a steel construction and manufacturing
firm for over 15 years. I've earned 6 figure salaries, had the
sports cars, big vacations, the whole deal... But, I always
carried a deep secret about my work.
My whole life I've wanted to be
a pilot and while I've always been pretty good at business,
that's just not my passion. The day I stepped into the cockpit of
a helicopter, I knew I had found my life's calling. I don't earn
anything close to 6 figures now, the sports car has been sold and I
don't take vacations any more...Of course I get to fly helicopters every
day, so I don't know why I necessarily need to go on vacation.
No matter how much material success I had attained, I still always knew
that I wasn't fulfilling my purpose.
It actually wasn't until I
started my training and developed this business that I knew what success
really meant. It hasn't been easy, but it's been absolutely
worth it! I would just like to encourage you that if you know that you are supposed to be a pilot, that you take that next step. You can procrastinate and do whatever to make ends meet, but you still won't be fulfilling your purpose.
